A Refreshing Irish Rain Year Round

St. Patrick’s Day comes every year, bringing to mind thoughts of the Irish culture like historic castles, Irish history, and Irish weather.  Unfortunately, we’re not all lucky enough to live in Ireland so we have to settle with what we can bring home ourselves.  One great way to bring the Irish feel to your home is to remodel your Virginia bathroom, starting with your shower head.

You may not think that such a little thing like a shower head can make any kind of a difference to your bathroom remodel project.  However, by changing your shower head, you can make your Virginia bathroom showers feel like a fresh Irish rain in Ireland.  Your shower head is your water regulator, controlling the type of water stream you feel as well as the pressure of the water that hits your skin.  By taking the time to choose the right shower head, you can make your Virginia bathroom shower head feel like a fresh Irish rain.

In order to choose the right shower head, it’s good to know what types of shower heads are out there. There are low flow high pressure shower heads, high pressure rain shower heads, shower heads with lunge lines (meaning they can be pulled out of a holder and brought down to tub level) and shower heads that can’t be detached.

A low flow high pressure shower head is ideal for someone who is doing bathroom remodeling in Virginia with a mind to keep the local environment as green as it would be in Ireland.  A low flow shower head uses 2.5 gallons per minute or less.  A non-low flow high pressure shower head can use as much as 5 gallons per minute.  The reason a low flow high pressure shower head is able to give your Virginia bathroom the water pressure of an Irish rain is that the shower head mixes air with water to create a higher pressure than with water alone.  Since these shower heads use an air and water combo to create pressure, they use up to 30% less water then other shower heads, giving you the opportunity to help keep your local environment as green as it would be in Ireland.

If your Virginia bathroom is already equipped with a low flow high pressure shower head and you’re still looking to remodel your bathroom, you can also check out a high pressure rain shower head.  This type of shower head differentiates from the low flow high pressure shower head in the size of the shower head itself.  A typical shower head is 2 to 4 inches wide while a high pressure rain shower head is 9 inches wide or more.  The high pressure rain shower head also comes with the same pressure system as the low flow high pressure shower heads so you’re still saving your water and the environment.

Although we all have dreams about visiting Ireland and feeling that fresh rain fall down on us, there is much easier way to bring home that feeling. By remodeling your Virginia bathroom, starting with your shower head, your bathroom will immediately have one of the best characteristics of Ireland: a wonderful Irish rain all year round.
